“Seemingly fragile words have become resilient tools in the hands of Chinese and Jewish rememberers. They fashion the tale that is to be carried forward in time and mend the gap left when the present becomes severed from the past."

I am a "rememberer", a portrait painter. I capture space, time, story, and memory through landscape, performance, public, and sacred art. I call this spiritual geography – remembering people and places through multiple points of view, multiple layers of cultural history, and/or multiple moments of a performance.
A close-knit family, the Arts, and Judaism, became the foundations of my life work, encouraging me to make a difference in the world. Growing up in the shadows of the Holocaust and in the light of the Civil Rights’ and Women's Movements infused my work with hope – that all of life is precious. Even after 41 years of painting, my work is still about celebration.
