Additional Sacred Art Work
Mr. Wolf Schlossberg-Cohen has been commissioned for sacred works throughout the United States. He is known for his unique workshop process where the voice of the community is reflected in the final art work. The following selected works are not just iconic, but also detailed portraits of each institution/congregation/school. The final work highlights what is most important to each group from their sacred past, present, and future.

BMH - BJ- The Denver Synagogue Denver, CO. Painting: 5 ft. x 14 ft., acrylic, canvas cut-outs on canvas and wood. Celebrates the merger of two storied congregations, both with origins in the 19th century. Depicts Jewish and congregational history. Commissioned for the entranceway to the main sanctuary.
The Sha'ar Zahav Windows and Ark Doors San Francisco, CA. Stained glass: Approx. 96 sq. ft. - 2 upper windows @ 6.5 ft.x 4.5 ft each, 1 upper window @ 4 ft. X 4 ft. and the Ark doors @ 7 ft.x 4 ft. Laminated layers of glass (no lead)- antique, dichroic, textured, fused- on clear glass. Congregation Sha’ar Zahav, the Congregation of the Golden Gate, is a historically LGBTQ synagogue. These windows helped celebrate the 'coming out' of the congregation, when they moved from the Castro District to the Mission District. Depicts Jewish/congregational symbols and history. The Live the Learning Mural, Kreiger Schecter Day School Baltimore, MD. Indoor and outdoor mural: 2800 sq ft., acrylic paint on cinder block, drywall, and dryvit. Workshops/Paint Teams: over 700 participants including all K-8 students, teachers, administration, volunteers, and additional staff. Transformed the school into a new sacred space. Depicts the values that students learn at the school, and what they will do with those lessons once they graduate. Installed in the main hall, 2nd floor, K-1 hallway, and outside by entrance. The Witkin Windows, Hebrew Educational Alliance Denver, CO. Stained glass: 585 sq. ft. Two upper windows @ 35 ft. x 5.5 ft. each - the birth of the sun and the moon. Ten lower windows @ 8 ft. x 2.5 ft. - each window based on Kabbalah and Shabbat themes. Laminated layers of glass (no lead)- antique, dichroic, fused, textured, sand blasted on clear glass. Depicts Jewish/congregational symbols and history. Additional partners: GALLERY M, Acacia Art Glass Studios.
The Mercy Stories Project, Mercy Medical Center, Baltimore MD. A one-of-a-kind, hand lettered and illuminated book of Mercy created to record, explain and preserve the history and mission of the Sisters of Mercy in Baltimore. Acrylic, paper cut-outs heat fused on paper. Each page 22 inches x 30 inches. Sister Mary Jacque was the first artist to lend her skilled craftsmanship to the book. As chapters were added other Sisters took on the role of artist and creator. The first volume, now complete, culminated with Mr. Wolf Schlossberg-Cohen incorporating the handiwork of over 160 Mercy doctors, nurses, employees and administration into his artistic interpretation of the Mercy mission and values statements.
Footsteps to Freedom: Images from the Beth El Hagaddah Beth El Congregation So. Orange, NJ. Indoor installation: 5 ft. X 50 ft. A series of free hanging painted panels (Ruah panels), acrylic on canvas mounted to brick. Images based on themes of the Passover Haggadah. Workshops/Paint Team: 160 congregants from 5 to 90 years old. Additional partner: Cantor Perry Fine.
